We visited Wildegoose Nursery on 22 September 2018. This was our first talk after our summer visits. After the welcome introduction Jack wasn’t sure if we had enjoyed the Nursery or the tea and cakes, or both on our visit!
We anticipated a comprehensive talk and didn’t we get it! He is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. His love affair with the latter part of the year certainly came across, and he was keen to show that it is a time of the year not to be missed in our gardens.
Jacks advice – Winter is all about seed heads. Leave everything alone until the second or third week in January. No bare soil should be visible. Let wildlife have a shelter, the birds feed and our cats and dogs can curl up on the cushions of plants! Take a well earned rest until the new year.
