We are one of the regional groups of The Cottage Garden Society (CGS), a national society of around 3000 members throughout the UK and abroad, which is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society.
As the ‘Staffs & Worcs Gardening Group’ of the CGS, our membership is not limited to these two counties. Presently we have members living in the adjoining counties of Shropshire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire.
We meet monthly on a Saturday throughout the year. During the winter months (October to March) we have talks by visiting speakers. These are held in either Wall Village Hall, near Lichfield or Swindon Community Centre, near Wombourne, West Midlands. In the other months of the year we arrange garden visits (also on Saturdays), usually two on each day, with the gardens wherever possible, being in the same locality. You can see where we would have been this year by looking at our 2020 programme. Sadly the pandemic meant our programme from March onward had to be cancelled but we hope to have a full programme of visits from April 2021. We will publish this as soon as available.
We publish a members magazine three times per year (Spring/Summer/Autumn with reports on our meetings and visits together with helpful advice and group news.
We always welcome visitors to our events, so why not come along to one of our meetings? Should you like to know more about us, or to join our Group, then use the e-mail link on the ‘Contact us’ page. Our annual subscription fee is £10.00.
